When the building was being demolished the Olé Taco sign was behind the Tio Dan sign. We asked Mr. Hester if we could have it. Mark cut the Olé and the jalapeño mascot and Mr. Ruben hung it up. It still has smoke damage in the back but it survived the fire. #oletacomemories
Many of you know Tio Dan’s story of how he sold tacos out of his car then opened his first restaurant in Round Rock, Don Pedro’s. These are the menus that were hand painted by his brother Andy Balderas. Thanks Mr Ruben Coronado for framing them and hanging them up. #tiodan
Honoring and carrying on what you taught us and wanted us to do. Many of you know prior to Tio Dan’s passing he had planned on changing the name. This is the name he had chosen. #tiodan
If any of you remember Don Pedro’s or Ole Taco you will remember this photo. We brought her back and she’s here to stay.

When the building was going to be demolished I asked Mr. Hester for the window that was painted by Tio Dan’s nephew, Larry L Perez in 1987 for those of you whom remember Ole Taco. Here is a part of history. It was August 7, 1987 when Ole Taco was opened. Thanks for the window it fits perfect. Thanks to Mr. Ruben for making the frame.

Friday two weeks after Tio Dan was laid to rest the building was demolished. Thanks to the Hester Family for allowing us to be tenants for 30 years. We’ve shared many memories there. It was a bittersweet day for all of us. As we continue to mourn the death of the patriarch of our family we thank each of you whom has reached out to our family. The Balderas Family
